David De Gea's emotional expression after leading Manchester United to win the 2022-2023 English League Cup. This is his first title with The Red Devils – nicknamed Manchester United – since 2017.

Manchester United will face Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 26 February 2023, WIB. They successfully claimed victory and won the 2022-2023 English League Cup trophy.

Casemiro opened Manchester United's lead in the 33rd minute. Marcus Rashford's goal six minutes later sealed a 2-0 win for them.

David De Gea expressed his happiness after Manchester United won the title. The 32-year-old goalkeeper hopes that his team can maintain this trend.

"I think we showed that we are a good team, we performed very well, we deserved to win a cup, and let's continue this (results and performance)," said De Gea as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, Monday (27/2/2023) ).

This goalkeeper from Spain admitted that he felt a bit emotional after winning. Moreover, the victory felt even more special for a goalkeeper like him, because it was achieved by keeping a clean sheet.

"I feel a bit emotional. I feel happy, proud, proud of the team too. The fans, very happy for them. It's been a great day," De Gea added.

"I feel great. It's the perfect day to break a record. Keeping a clean sheet in a final is never easy. I'm very, very happy," he concluded.
